what you need
1 pack Three Aussie Farmers Outback BBQ Burgers
1 potato, peeled
1 egg
2 Tbsp. butter
1 Tbsp. plain flour
375ml dark beer
⅓ cup water
150ml barbecue sauce
4 small onions, cut into wedges
1 Tbsp. fresh parsley, chopped
Salt and pepper, to taste
Mashed potato, to serve
how to make it
Pre-heat fan forced oven to 160°C.
2. Grate the potato using the coarse side of a box grater and squeeze out some of the liquid.
In a large bowl, combine potato, egg, burger patty, mustard, thyme, salt and pepper.
Form into 6 evenly sized meatballs and set aside.
Heat an oven-proof fry-pan over med-high heat.
Melt the butter, then add the flour and stir. Cook until lightly browned for 2-3 mins.
Add the beer and simmer for 5 mins or until the sauce has thickened.
Add the water, BBQ sauce and salt, then stir to combine.
Add the meatballs and onion wedges.
Spoon a little of the sauce over the meatballs.
Place in the oven and cook for 30 mins, basting the meatballs with sauce several times during the cooking process.
Serve meatballs on a bed of mashed potatoes with a generous drizzle of sauce. Enjoy!
