Pulled Pork Gua Bao with Spiced Honey Soy Glaze

Gua Bao is a Taiwanese braised pork belly bun, but we’ve swapped it out with our Three Aussie Farmers Pulled Pork, so you can put it together quickly with a finger licking good spiced honey soy glaze.

how to make it

  1. Steam the bao buns according to pack instructions.
  2. In a fry-pan over med heat, cook onions, garlic and ginger until the onions become soft. Next add in the chilli powder, sugar, honey, dark soy, light soy, water and lemongrass paste. Whisk it all together until the sugar has melted.
  3. Simmer for 5 mins or until the sauce starts to thicken. Add in the Pull Pork and stir through until evenly coated and the pork has heated up.
  4. Spoon a little hoisin sauce inside the bao bun, followed by the glazed pulled pork, sprinkle peanuts, chilli, sesame seeds and spring onion over the top.
  5. Serve and enjoy!

You can’t go wrong with pulled pork.  Especially slow cooked Aussie pulled pork that’s faster to make than baked beans on toast.  It’s a big claim, but this might be the best thing since sliced bread… The only hard bit is deciding how to eat it – sliders, nachos, tacos, wraps, salads, pasta,- or you could forget that and just grab a fork.
