Marmalade, Ginger and Bourbon Glazed Ham
Get ready to wow your guests with this irresistible marmalade, ginger, and bourbon glazed ham! The combo of sweet marmalade, spicy ginger, and a splash of bourbon makes this ham the star of any gathering this silly season!
What You Need
- 1 Three Aussie Farmers Half Leg Ham
- 1 ½ cup orange marmalade
- 30g ginger, peeled and thinly sliced
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 cups brown sugar
- 500ml water
- 2 Tbsp. Dijon mustard
- 70ml bourbon
- Cloves, for garnishing (optional)
How To Make It
- Prepare the ham by cutting through the rind just below the shank. Starting at the opposite end, use your fingers to carefully separate the rind from the fat and discard the rind. Using a sharp knife, score the fat in a diamond pattern, being careful not to cut into the meat.
- Pre-heat fan forced oven to 160°C. Lightly grease a wire rack and place it in a lined roasting pan. Using cloves, pierce them into the middle of the diamond scores, then place the ham into the prepared roasting tray.
- In a saucepan add marmalade, ginger, garlic, brown sugar, water and mustard. Whisk together then place over a med. heat and bring to a gentle simmer. Allow to simmer for 25 mins until it has reduced slightly. Whisk in the bourbon and remove from the heat.
- Pour half the glaze over the ham, using a brush to get into any scores. Place in the oven and brush with glaze every 15 mins for 1 hr or until the ham is sticky and golden.
- Serve and enjoy!
