Golden Baked Asparagus Ham Tarts
Asparagus and ham tarts are a delicious and easy way to use up leftover ham. The dish combines fresh asparagus with our smoky Aussie ham, all encased in golden puff pastry. Simple, yet impressive!
what you need
- 200g sliced Three Aussie Farmers Leg Ham
- 3 eschalots, finely chopped
- 1 tsp. Dijon mustard
- 1 tsp. seeded mustard
- 250g crème fraiche
- 3 sheets puff pastry
- 2 bunches asparagus, halved
- 1 Tbsp. olive oil
- 1 egg, beaten
- 30g parmesan, shaved
- Salt and pepper, to taste
how to make it
- Pre-heat fan forced oven to 180⁰C.
- In a fry-pan over med heat, soften onion. and allow to cool.
- In a bowl, add onion, ham, mustards and crème fraiche and stir to combine, season with salt and pepper.
- Cut pastry sheets in half and place onto lined baking tray.
- Spread ham mix over pastry leaving a 1.5cm border and top with asparagus halves, alternating tips and ends.
- Drizzle with oil and brush pastry edges with egg wash.
- Bake for 15 mins or until golden. Remove from oven.
- Garnish with parmesan.
- Serve and enjoy!
