Honey & Chipotle Glazed Ham

Beech wood smoked Aussie ham on the bone with a Honey & Chipotle glaze. This is the perfect balance between sweet, salty and spicy that will have everyone coming back for more!

what you need

  • 1 Three Aussie Farmers Half Leg Ham
  • 1 cup honey
  • 220g chipotle sauce
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 3 Tbsp. wholegrain Dijon mustard
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1 lime, juiced
  • 100ml water

how to make it

  1. Preheat fan-forced oven to 180⁰C.
  2. Prepare the ham leg by carefully removing the rind, ensuring to keep as much of the fat on as possible. Score fine lines into the fat about 1 cm deep.  Wrap the bone end in foil to protect it from burning.
  3. Combine honey, chipotle, sugar, mustard, garlic, lime juice and water in a saucepan over med heat and bring to a simmer.
  4. Place ham onto a rack to elevate it off the baking tray and pour the boiling water into the bottom of the tray.
  5. Baste with ½ the glaze and place into the oven for 2 hrs.
  6. Continue to baste the ham every 10-15 mins, rotating the ham to ensure even colouring.
  7. Remove from oven, brush with remaining glaze and allow to stand for 15 mins.
  8. Serve and enjoy!
