Triple Cheese and Ham Pluto Pup

Don’t eat another plain old ham and cheese toastie or dagwood dog again. Munch on one of these Triple Cheese and Ham Pluto Pups instead!

what you need

  • 4 slices Three Aussie Farmers Half Leg Ham, cut 5mm thick
  • 30mm diameter cookie cutter
  • 4 slices tasty cheese
  • 4 slices American cheese
  • 2 slices fresh mozzarella, 5mm thick
  • 4 wooden skewers, pre-soaked in water
  • 2 Tbsp. paprika
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1½ tsp. ground white pepper
  • ½ cup plain flour
  • 1½ cups panko breadcrumbs
  • 3 eggs, beaten
  • Vegetable oil

how to make it

  1. Using the cookie cutter, cut 28 discs out of the ham and set aside.
  2. Next layer 2 slices of tasty cheese on top of each other and use the cookie cutter again to cut out 8 discs. Repeat again for the American cheese and the fresh mozzarella.
  3. Thread a ham disc onto a skewer, followed by a piece of tasty cheese, ham, American cheese, ham, fresh mozzarella and repeat until you have added each cheese twice.
  4. On a plate combine paprika, salt, white pepper and flour. Roll the Pluto pup in the flour mixture and shake off any excess. Dip the Pluto pup into the egg mix, followed by the breadcrumbs to coat until all ham and cheese is crumbed.
  5. Dip the Pluto pup once more into the egg and breadcrumbs.
  6. Pre-heat 2-3 cm oil in a deep fry-pan, or heat deep fryer to 190⁰C. Carefully place the Pluto pups into the hot oil and fry for 2 mins or until golden on the outside. Remove from oil and place onto paper towel.
  7. Serve and enjoy!
